RITUS

From presentation to purchase — AI that reads the room

Context & Challenge

In the world of ultra-high-end retail, rituals matter. Every gesture, every presentation, every moment of interaction between client and product is part of a carefully choreographed experience. For luxury brands with a highly selective clientele, these rituals are not just symbolic — they’re operationally critical. A single missed sale can shift a season from success to catastrophe.

Our client, a globally recognized name in the luxury sector (whose identity remains confidential), wanted to better understand the relationship between product presentation and purchase behavior — not through anecdote, but through data. The goal: to bring the precision of digital analytics into the physical retail space, without compromising the elegance or layout of their boutiques.


The Solution: In-Store Deep Vision

We developed In-Store Deep Vision, a computer vision–based PoC designed to track which objects are shown to clients and which are ultimately purchased. This allows brands to measure the efficiency of their rituals — better understanding which presentations lead to conversions, and which moments may need refinement.

The system was built in partnership with Motorola, leveraging advanced camera equipment and deployed on the AWS platform. It achieved an impressive 89% accuracy in identifying the specific objects it was trained to detect — even under varied lighting conditions and among visually similar items.


How It Works

  • We trained a custom computer vision model using over 300 images of high-end products, captured in different lighting scenarios to simulate real in-store conditions.
  • The model was designed to recognize specific objects with high precision, even when surrounded by similar shapes or textures.
  • One of the most important features of the solution is its zero physical impact — no tags, no chips, no rewiring. This was essential for preserving the integrity of the luxury store environment.
  • Thanks to Motorola’s hardware and our architecture, the system runs seamlessly on existing infrastructure (cameras, NVRs, etc.) and is fully portable — capable of being deployed on-premises or in the cloud.
